3x Founder helping Entrepreneurs & Professionals Maximize their Potential and Dominate
We’re in a tech-forward world now. Everybody’s learning data analytics, AI, web development, software engineering, cybersecurity; and I love it. It shows that young people are hungry to grow, build, and succeed.
But here’s something I’ve learned on my journey as a founder (and I'm still learning daily): soft skills (especially communication) can be the deciding factor between landing that job or being passed over, closing that investment deal or losing it, being respected in a room or just being present.
I get it. You want to learn Python, master AI tools, get into cybersecurity, or design clean UIs. You want your work to speak for you.
But what if I told you… sometimes your words speak louder?
You could be the best developer in the room; but if you can’t explain your ideas, if you struggle to collaborate, pitch, lead, or even respond to feedback; you’ll likely be misunderstood, underpaid, or overlooked.
I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it.
Think about it:
Even as a founder or leader, your communication determines how well your team listens, how fast your vision spreads, and how clearly people see your mission.
So yes, learn to build. But also learn to speak, write, listen, and connect.
If you're on a budget, you can still start here:
✅ Coursera (Audit Mode): Free university-level courses on communication and leadership. I recommend "Improving Communication Skills" by UPenn.
✅ edX (Audit Mode): Just like Coursera; tons of free lectures on soft skills and teamwork.
✅ Grow with Google: Great free modules like "Effective Communication" and more for your career toolkit.
💡 LinkedIn Learning: Rich library. Great for bite-sized learning paths in communication, negotiation, emotional intelligence, and more.
💡 Udemy: Affordable courses (especially during sales) on public speaking, business writing, and emotional intelligence.
💡 Coursera (Paid Specializations): If you're looking for certificates, they offer deep dives in communication that employers value.
Whether you're building a startup or career, technical skills will open the door; but soft skills are what keep you in the room.
Learn to collaborate. Learn to listen. Learn to speak up, and speak well.
It’s something I remind myself daily too.
So here’s your gentle nudge: invest in your soft skills like you invest in your tech stack. You’ll go farther than you think.
